Penwortham Priory Academy Adult Football Leagues (Monday and Thursday)

Fixtures

The named team captain will be responsible for ensuring that his team fulfils all the fixtures at the correct times and for advising his players of their match times/dates.

The captain will also be responsible for registering their bank/card details to allow the automated collection of match fees (no payments on the evening will now be allowed, these will be automatically collected on the day of the match).

It is not possible to rearrange any fixtures.

Please note that the reserve date for postponed fixtures is only used when the pitch is unplayable.

All matches will take place on the floodlit 3G pitch at Penwortham Priory Academy, PR1 0JE.

Cancellations

Each team will be allowed to cancel a maximum of two matches in a season (this team will automatically receive a 2-0 loss but get a full refund).

If a team cancels a third match this will result in removal from the league.

If any team cancels on the day of a match then no refund will be issued to that team, a 2-0 loss will be recorded and it will count towards their number of cancelled matches.

We have looked at other leagues and most operate a zero refund policy at any point in the league so hopefully we are still being fair. However common sense will be applied so for example when the Sunday 11-a-side league have summer matches we won’t count these as we are aware players have to play in them, but if teams can kick off at 9.15am to fulfil their matches it would be appreciated.

Squad

Teams can name a squad of up to 10 players, all of whom can play during a match.

Only 7 players may play at any one time, one of whom must be a goalkeeper.

Teams can use an unlimited number of rolling substitutions.

Match Time

Games are 2 x 20 minutes with an immediate half time change around.

All matches must start at the stated time.

Teams must be on the pitch and ready to begin the match at the appointed kick-off time. If a team is more than 5 minutes late their opponents may claim a 2 – 0 head start.

Playing Kit and Footballs

All outfield players within a team must wear shirts of identical colours (failure to do this will result in the referee providing a bib for each player on the team).

The goalkeeper should have a different coloured top to their teammates (a bib will be provided if required).

No team can wear black playing tops (failure to do this will result in the referee providing a bib for each player on the team). If two teams are wearing the same coloured tops the referee will toss a coin to decide which team wears bibs.

All players must wear shin pads

Players must ensure that they wear appropriate footwear - No blades of any type

A match ball will be provided by the referees.

Rules

Normal rules of football apply with the following exceptions

  • No off sides
  • No sliding tackles
  • Goalkeepers cannot kick out of their hands
  • Goal kicks will be a throw by the goalkeeper
  • All freekicks are direct
  • Unlimited roll on roll off subs with the referees permission
  • Games are 2 x 20 minutes with an immediate half time change around
  • Yellow card sin bin (ref's discretion on duration), no sub replacement

Competition Arrangements

All fixtures, results and other notices will be communicated via FA full time website

Priory 3G Monday League (thefa.com)

Priory 3G Thursday League (thefa.com)

The competition will comprise of 3 leagues of up to 8 teams. All teams in the league will play all the other teams twice.

The scoring system will be as follows: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 point for a loss.

In the event of two or more teams being equal on points after all matches have been played, the team with the highest goal difference will take precedence in the league table.

Two teams will be promoted and relegated from each league at the end of a season

Referees

During the game, the referee’s decision on all matters is final.

Teams are responsible for playing in an acceptable manner and for interpreting and accepting the rules of play fairly.

Indiscipline will result in suspensions and individual players/teams being removed from the competition.

Any team playing a suspended player will automatically lose the match 5–0 and be deducted 3 points. Players playing whilst suspended will have a further three match ban added to the end of their then current suspension.

Disciplinary Panel

The league has an independent disciplinary panel who will meet when needed.

The panel has authority to award any sanction deemed necessary including the removal of players and or teams if needed.

Prizes

Each league winner (Premier, Championship and League 1) will receive a £40 voucher for a local Penwortham business which will be distributed at the end of every season.

Advertise your business on our 3G pitch

During the winter months this area is fully booked and is visited by thousands of people watching their children play football. We also host a men’s league consisting of 36 teams who play twice a week, plus other adult teams. With all this activity on site your advertising sign will be seen by huge numbers of people.

Sponsorship is £300 for the first year which covers the sign’s production from supplied artwork. Then from year two onwards it is £100 per year unless you wish to change your sign.

The size of each sign is 2000mm x 800mm.

Artwork would need to be supplied by the sponsor and approved by the school. Any text on the artwork must be set as outlines for production purposes.
