Potter and Paris Trip 2024

On Friday, 20 September, a group of 40 pupils, along with five staff, set off on a residential trip to Harry Potter Studios, London, and Paris, incorporating Disneyland and many key tourist attractions in the cities.

The three-day coach trip began on the early Friday morning with a giddy group of pupils. Organised by Geography teacher, Mr Watters, the reins were later handed over to SENCo, Mrs Holland, with her 15 year's experience of accompanying this popular annual trip. Here's how they got on:

ON OUR WAY

Bon Voyage! They’re on their way to Warner Bros Studios and the Harry Potter Tour.

DAY 1

As day 1 draws to a close, Priory students (and staff) have enjoyed an afternoon of magical delights at the Warner Bros Studio Tour. Plenty of pictures here from Diagon Alley, The Great Hall inside Hogwarts, and some of the props used in the film.

The group are next en route to Disneyland Paris via the ferry from Dover. Safe sailing!

DAY 2

The magic theme continued with a day at Disneyland!! The sun was out as pupils enjoyed the rides and processions in the magical kingdom, complete with fairytale castle!!

DAY 3

Today pupils explored the ‘City of Love’, visiting Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame before a boat ride along the Seine. A walk up the Eiffel Tower gave some spectacular panoramic views over the city before an elevator ride up the Montparnasse Tower completed the sightseeing tour.

Day 4

Before heading for home via the Calais-Dover ferry, there was time to sneak in a visit to Vimy Ridge, the Canadian National Memorial. 

Vice Principal, Mrs Cowell, summed up the trip by saying, "Our school trip to Paris was truly unforgettable!"

She continued, "The excitement began with a visit to Harry Potter World, where the students were absolutely enchanted by the magic on display. Disneyland Paris was, of course, a hit, with plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the day. 

"The Eiffel Tower left everyone in awe, especially as we admired the view from the viewing platform up several flights of stairs. Montmartre’s artistic charm captured the kids’ imaginations, and they loved learning about the history of Notre Dame. Strolling through the Latin Quarter, they even practiced a bit of French with the locals! 

In closing, Mrs Cowell added, "The pupils were wonderfully engaged and well-behaved, and it was a joy to see them soaking up so much culture while having such a great time. All in all, a perfect balance of fun and learning!"
