Locked Up in History! Year 7’s Lancaster Adventure
16 November 2025
Year 7 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Lancaster last week, diving deep into the city’s fascinating past.
The day began at the Priory Church, a beautiful landmark dating back to the 1400s. Students explored its stunning architecture and learned about its centuries-old role in the community.
Next stop: Lancaster Castle, where history truly came alive. Pupils toured the castle’s ancient halls and even stepped inside an authentic 18th-century jail cell - an experience that sparked plenty of excitement! The visit concluded in a working Crown Court, offering a glimpse into modern justice.
Lead Teacher of History, Mr Eccles, said, “The trip was a perfect mix of history and hands-on learning, leaving everyone with lasting memories and a new appreciation for Lancaster’s heritage”.
