Plans for Reopening - 2 September 2020
Our detailed plan for reopening in September is available to download from the document group below. Pupils should also watch the video, at the base of this page, appropriate to their year group.
In addition, first priority parents will receive a text message early w/c 31.8.20 advising them which room their child/children should go to on their first day.
Covid - Plans, Procedures and Policies
School transport will operate as per their normal schedule. Pupils travelling to school on any public transport, school bus or school minibus must wear an appropriate face covering.
The school dining hall will be closed during the first week back and therefore pupils will need to bring a packed lunch for three days (2-4 Sept). Pupils entitled to free school meals will be provided with a grab bag. The kitchen will re-open on Mon, 7 September with a new online ordering system; further details of the ordering system will follow.
New advice regarding the use of face masks has now been published by the government.
The advice for secondary school pupils in England is that "schools will have the discretion to require face coverings in communal areas if they believe that is right in their particular circumstances".
However, in areas where transmission of the virus is high - and where government interventions such as local lockdowns are in place - face coverings will be mandatory for pupils in Year 7 and above in parts of schools where social distancing is not possible. This will not include in classrooms during lessons, where the government says they could "inhibit learning".
With this in mind therefore, all pupils must now bring with them a face mask to school that can be worn when directed to do so by the staff in school. When and where such face masks should be worn in school will be made clear to pupils on their first day back with us.
