Year 10 latest updates
Year 10 Important Updates
Following on from our reopening information sent out to parents last week, we have been made aware this morning that Lancashire County Council are now advising schools that it is safe to reopen on Monday, 22 June to our Year 10 pupils.
Please see letter and plans below.
Year 10 - Reopening Update – Answers to your FAQs
- Pupils need to bring their own equipment, but if they can't, we will provide some and it will stay at school for their sole use.
- Pupils must bring their own drinks and snacks and there will be no access to vending machines or catering facilities.
- Pupils must wear school uniform and are encouraged to change out of it, and have it washed as soon as they're home in readiness for the next week. If that's not possible, it must be hung up away from other clothes where nobody will touch it.
- Pupils are welcome to wear masks if they wish, but these can’t be provided by school.
It’s that time of year again when we ask Year 10 pupils to consider applying for senior places at Penwortham Priory Academy. Please refer to the document below which will tell you everything that you need to know in order to apply for the following positions:
- Sports Captains
- House Captains
- Head Boy / Girl
Closing date Thurs, 2 July 2020 at 3.20pm.
Runshaw College Future Ready Virtual Open Event - Mon, 22 June
Added 18.6.20 & 24.6.20
In normal circumstances, over the next few weeks Year 10 would have been visiting the local colleges’ annual taster days. These are always enjoyable days which give pupils a real taste of life at college.
In the absence of being able to hold physical taster days this year, Runshaw College has put together a Year 10 Future Ready Virtual Event which takes place on Monday, 22 June. This will include information about the different pathways students can take at Runshaw College, videos from staff and students to learn more about the courses on offer, as well as a virtual 3D tour of the college.
Below is the event invitation which provides more information and explains how you can register. We encourage you to sign up for the event which we hope will help you to start thinking about your steps after Priory.
If you missed Monday's event, don't worry you can access everything here >> www.runshaw.ac.uk/year-10-future-ready-event/
Preston's College Virtual Open Event
The college's online taster sessions will provide Year 10 with the experience of life at Preston’s College. You will enjoy and take part in a range of virtual ‘have-a-go’ taster activity sessions to find out more about our courses and the future careers you are interested in.
To register go to >> www.preston.ac.uk/tasters
The site will go live on Mon, 6 July for students to access and all who have registered will get sent their link. Their short videos filmed around the college will give a good insight into their facilities.
