Priory's sports facilities are amongst the best in the country.   Pupils have access to a full size sports hall, gymnasium, astroturf pitch, dance studio, multi use games area (MUGA), extensive playing fields including five football pitches and 400m athletics track.  The school also has access to Penwortham Leisure Centre for squash, swimming and the fitness suite.

Sportshall

Our full size sports hall offers a wide range of team and individual activities including badminton, volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor football, netball, athletics, trampolining, gymnastics, circuit training, fitness testing and aerobics.

Dance Studio

Our recently constructed dance studio allows pupils to take part in dance in both physical education lessons and during extra-curricular dance clubs.

Playing Fields

Priory's extensive playing fields offer the opportunity to participate in a wide range of different sporting activities. In the winter we are able to offer four full size and one junior football pitch.  In the summer this changes to a full size 300m running track, throwing circles for all athletic events, two long jump and triple jump sand pits, three rounder's pitches and two softball pitches.

Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)

Priory has recently upgraded their tennis courts to a new state of the art multi use games area (MUGA). The £30,000 development has seen a brand new area constructed offering three netball courts, three tennis courts and the opportunity to play a wide variety of sports including hockey and basketball. The MUGA has full flood lighting so can be used all year round.

3G Astroturf

Priory is one of only three schools in South Ribble to have a full size 3G Astroturf. The Astroturf is used all year round and allows pupils to participate in football, touch rugby, rounders and hockey. The Astroturf, like the MUGA, has full flood lighting so it can also be used all year round

Gymnasium

Priory's gymnasium is a specialised area primarily used for gymnastics and trampolining.

Penwortham Leisure Centre

Priory is a dual use facility and, as part of this agreement, pupils from Priory have access to Penwortham Leisure Centre's facilities during their physical education lessons and during some after school clubs. Pupils can participate in swimming, squash and use the fitness suite.
