Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Anna...

Mrs Gidden has selected Year 7 Anna as her Cool Reader this week and she is currently enjoying ‘Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.’

There are 13 books in the series and Anna is reading ‘The Miserable Mill,’ the fourth book.

“These are about three orphans, whose parents died in a fire and Count Olaf is trying to steal their fortune. It’s obviously a serious story and I do like fantasy novels.

“When I am not reading I like cycling, cooking, swimming and I play badminton and table tennis. I enjoy doing lots of activities.”

Anna says her favourite subjects are maths and science.

“Maths is fun to do and it is used everywhere and my favourite science is chemistry.

“I would like to be a primary school teacher. My favourite teacher at Middleforth Primary School was Mr Noblet and I want to be like him. He was funny and kind and never got mad! I want to follow in his footsteps.”

Ethan's English teacher, Mr Owen added, "Anna enjoys reading; she stands out in the English classroom because she clearly loves to talk about books, poems, and life itself. She is a fantastic influence on those around her, modelling not only what we expect of Priory students, but going beyond expectations as she consistently excels. Anna also helps in the library. Top work, Anna!."
