Mrs Gidden's cool reader's club - Favour

Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...
These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher. We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading. Introducing Favour...
Favour might be recognisable to some as she had the lead role of Matilda in last year’s successful show – and she is also one of Mrs Gidden’s Cool Readers.
Year 9 Favour admits she loves reading and has her books she reads in school as well as on-line books she reads at home.
“I am reading ‘Tom Gates: My School Project’ by Liz Pichon in school at the moment. This is about a kid who is doing his school project on his family tree and his mum sends in a really embarrassing baby photograph!
“On-line I am reading a book about the apocalypse. The main character gets betrayed by his sister and gets reincarnated. Two months before the apocalypse he ends up storing food and finding space for it. It’s really interesting.
“I like fantasy books and books about reincarnation. I also like funny books. Who doesn’t? I read anything which piques my interest.
“I love drama and singing and I enjoyed being Matilda. It was hard as the spotlight was on me and I was nervous but I am glad I got involved and I will audition for any other school plays.
“I am performing at the July school event but singing and acting is just a hobby. I want to be an accountant, be in business and definitely do something enterprising in the future.”
