Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Lewis..

We interviewed Lewis before the end of the summer term when he was in Year 8.  

Lewis is a fan of the 39-Story Treehouse series:

It's a 12-book series by Andy Griffith and Terry Denton, described as 'wacky adventures' and 'laugh-out-loud.'

"It's about a massive treehouse created by the writers and loads of cool stuff happens. It's an adventure series and I enjoy those," said the Year 9.

"My favourite subject is PE and I play football for Euxton Villa as centre back or right back.

"I guess like most people I would like to be a footballer but, if not, I am looking towards becoming a joiner. I am interested in an Apprenticeship when I leave school."

Lewis's English teacher, Mrs Robinson-Ali added, "Lewis spends the reading hour with his nose in his book, totally engrossed and it's a pleasure to see. He read just under 72,000 words last year and I can't wait to see how many he will read this year! I know he particularly enjoyed the 39-Storey Treehouse which he quizzed on just before the summer and scored 100%! Keep being a great example, Lewis!"
