Mrs Elliott's cool reader's club - Taylor

Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...
These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher. We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading. Introducing Taylor...
Taylor is one of our Cool Readers although he admits a lot of his time is taken up with sport.
The Year 8 is currently reading ‘World’s Worst Children’ by David Walliams.
“It’s separate stories about kids badly behaving and the outcomes. It is quite funny.
“David Walliams is my favourite author and I think this is my favourite book.
“My favourite subject in school is PE. I play football for Leyland Pirates, I am centre midfield, and I am a big Preston North End fan.
“I do read both inside and outside of school and I enjoy it but I do probably play sport more. As well as football, I am also into athletics.”
Taylor's English teacher, Mrs Robinson-Ali, added, "Taylor loves to read and it really benefits him in the classroom. During our lessons, Taylor gets hooked into the plot of anything we read together - we recently finished reading Stone Cold by Robert Swindells and he made some fantastic predictions about how the novel would end. We are now moving on to read Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing and Taylor has been enthused learning about Shakespeare's life and times. It's a pleasure to see somebody thrive off a great plot and his engagement in the texts we study certainly comes from his love of reading in his free time!"
