It was a busy day on Tuesday when we also welcomed judges from North West in Bloom. The school was being shortlisted for the RHS It's Your Neighbourhood 'Neighbourhood' category by judges, Mr Pendleton and Mrs Clark.  Priory's gardener, Mr Farron, and Principal, Mr Eastham, took pride in showing the pair around the estate, explaining its development and how our gardens impact on the school community.

Part of the judging criteria meant that we had to demonstrate our environmental and sustainability initiatives. Science teacher Mrs Massey joined the party to discuss the work of the Eco Committee whilst Head of Technology, Mrs Lawe spoke about our practical curriculum links and showed them the bird boxes made by Key Stage 4 pupils.

Mr Pendleton said, "The judges from Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) North West in Bloom Support visited the school today and were very impressed indeed. We were shown round by Mr Farron, the Headteacher and some of the staff who are involved in this fantastic school. The outdoor areas are really exceptional and a credit to everyone involved. We don’t think we have seen a secondary school in the NW with such outstanding grounds which are used very effectively as a cross curriculum resource. The outdoor areas are a delight, valued , respected and appreciated by pupils, staff and visitors to the school. Well done indeed keep up the great work."
