Priory girls help primary pupils become shooting stars
19 November 2018
Priory will be helping primary school pupils become shooting star netball players as the school takes over netball for the Penwortham area in conjunction with South Ribble Sports Development.
A select group of Year 8 and 10 girls have had three sessions of training with primary school pupils before they qualify as netball leaders. The girls will next take charge of umpiring sessions for the 12 primary schools in the area ahead of the Hi 5 Netball Leagues, which start in the new year.
“It’s a great chance for our students to learn new skills,” said PE teacher, Mrs Gutteridge.
“The girls will learn drills that they will actively participate in and then lead and umpire primary pupils.
“It will build their own confidence while also helping others.”
