Mrs Gidden's cool readers club - Megan
16 December 2019
Priory’s Head of English, Mrs Gidden, has been really impressed with many of our multi-talented pupils and wanted to highlight their love of reading while excelling at other pursuits.
This week we interviewed Year 7 pupil, Megan.
Megan is currently hooked on the book ‘Doom Rider’ by David Gatward.
Whilst this Year 7 pupil enjoys English, Megan wants to work with animals in the future.
“I am enjoying Doom Rider. It’s about a boy who is born into a family of psychics but he doesn’t like it and runs away.
“His family die in a fire and he then meets Lily who tells him people are trying to hunt him down and kill him before he turns 13.
“He is a ‘Rider’ and has to find the other ‘Riders’ to save the world.
“My favourite book is Dr Franklin’s Island by Ann Halam. It’s about three teenagers who end up on an island, they are trying to survive and they find a place where scientist Dr Franklin is turning humans into animals. It's a really interesting book.
“My favourite subjects are English and art but I want to be a zoo keeper or be an animal educator in the future.
“I have two guinea pigs, two rabbits and a giant African land snail named Shelby at home. I want to do something with animals.”
Megan can also be found running in her spare time with her dad.
