ICT Goes 3D and Needs Pupil Help!
10 February 2022
The ICT & Computing Department has been gifted with a 3D printer...
...And now Head of Department, Mrs Qadri, is inviting pupils to get to know the BAE Systems' funded piece of equipment.
Pupils who wish to put themselves forward for this exciting opportunity will learn how to set up and operate the machine along with picking up some basic maintenance and trouble shooting pointers.
Pupils from all year groups are encouraged to get involved and should see Mrs Qadri to check out Priory's new gadget and to sign up for training.
Talking about the benefits of opportunities like this, Head of Learning for Life Mrs Hopes, added "Many of our youngsters are too young to apply for part time jobs, but voluntary work in school gives them responsibility, creates a sense of team, provides employability skills, achieves PiXL Edge criteria, and supports job and college applications."
At the end of next month, selected Year 8 pupils will also take part in an Inspiring Lancashire Project working with Create Education to provide a 3D printing workshop. The BAE Systems' funded event will also include targeted career advice for the age group.
Thank you to Ethan, Dylan and Oliver for posing next to our latest addition to the department!
