World Book Day Bake-Off Brilliance!

To celebrate World Book Day, our English department hosted a fantastic book‑themed bake-off last Friday - and the entries were nothing short of spectacular!

Cakes inspired by favourite stories were judged by Head of English, Miss Beswick, before being sold at break and lunch.

Thanks to our talented bakers (and hungry customers!), we raised over £50 for the department.

Winners:

1st - Stickman – Alba P (Year 7)

2nd - Once Upon a Time – Humayraa R (Year 7)

3rd - Shadow Thieves – Emma N (Year 9)

All entrants received reward points and House points, whilst the winners also took away book vouchers — and a huge well done to everyone who took part!

English teacher Mrs Robinson-Ali, who coordinated the school’s World Book Day activities, said: “The creativity and effort pupils put into their cakes was incredible. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved and celebrating reading in such a fun way.”
