Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Bobby...

Football-mad Bobby is concentrating on 007 in his reading! 

Year 8 Bobby is currently reading ‘Young Bond: Red Nemesis’ by Steve Cole. 

“It’s about James Bond when he was younger,” said Bobby. “I like spy books and thrillers and I have seen a lot of the James Bond films.” 

Bobby admits his heart lies with football though! 

“I am a Preston North End season ticket holder and my favourite player is Brad Potts. 

“I play football for Charnock Richard as a striker. 

“I prefer football to reading but I do read when I can! I enjoy my English classes.” 

Bobby's English teacher, Mrs Elliott added, "Although Bobby's first love is football, I'm really pleased that reading still gets a look in!  Bobby is really enthusiastic in English and is always keen to take on the next challenge.  We're currently reading an excerpt from Orwell's 1984.  Bobby has already checked in our library and alerted me to the fact that we don't have a copy!  It's now on my 'must buy next' list!  A great example to his peers."
