This month's recommendation from Mrs Elliott is Whiteout by Gabriel Dylan.

For Charlie, a school ski trip is the perfect escape from his unhappy home life. Until a storm blows in and the resort town is cut off from the rest of the world. Trapped on the mountain, the students (along with mysterious ski guide Hanna), wait for the blizzards to pass. 
 
But as night falls and the town’s long buried secrets begin to surface, the storm is the least of their problems…. 
 
I loved this book!  If you like horror, pace and gore then this is for you.  Horror is a tricky genre to write well, but Dylan has produced a fast paced and exciting read that will keep you gripped until the very end. 

This would make a great Christmas gift for a Year 9-11 pupil!
