Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Chittara...

Chittara is a true friend – she is reading a book which she wouldn’t normally select but was gifted to her by a friend. 

“It’s not really to my taste but I feel like I should read it as it was a present from a friend when I left India,” said Year 10 Chittara, who moved to Penwortham Priory Academy from India three months ago as her dad got a job at Bae Systems. 

“It’s called ‘Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe’ and is about two friends who don’t fit in well and they realise how much they like each other but they can’t say it. 

“The books I choose to read are usually philosophy or poetry, books with good vocabulary and a bit more serious. 

“I enjoy reading and do read a lot although haven’t been able to read as much as I would like recently as I have a lot of school work. 

“My favourite subject is Engineering (NCFE Level 2 Technical Award in Engineering) and I also enjoy English and Maths. 

“I would like to be an aeronautical engineer in the future but I would like to do a Masters in Business to keep my options wide open.”
