Over the past few weeks, all Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit local colleges as they start to plan their next steps after leaving Priory.   Here’s a glimpse of what they got up to:

At Preston’s College pupils explored a wide range of vocational courses, from Fashion and Theatre to Media Makeup, Engineering, Sports, and Accounting.  Dave Elliott, the Recruitment and Progression Manager at the college, shared positive feedback, emphasising the students’ engagement and excellent behaviour.

At Runshaw College, students delved into courses like E-Sports, Travel and Tourism, Criminology, and Sociology.

Year 10 Umar said, "My favourite was the engineering lesson and we made a windmill. I got offered to try a simulator. I had to hit some points and make sure I'd do it in a time. I had to manage how to control and operate the simulator which after using it became easier. I thank Runshaw College for the experience."

Last Friday's visit to Newman College, allowed pupils to attend subjects of choice from Ancient History, Computer Science, and Philosophy, to name a few, resulting in another enjoyable and valuable day.

Politics, Business, and Design Technology were on the timetable for pupils who opted for a morning taster at Hutton Sixth Form. Whilst there, pupils also got to explore the sixth form area.

Head of Year 10, Mrs Bullock, said  "All the visits have given students a great experience of what college life is like. These taster days provide valuable insights into local colleges, helping our pupils to make informed decisions about their future paths."
