Primary pupils have a challenging time in Science
10 July 2024
Last week, seven different primary schools from across the area joined us for an afternoon of science activities for the first of Priory's science competitions.
The pupils, from Year 5, took part in a range of Science activities including quizzes where they had to identify famous scientists, lab equipment and put their general knowledge of Science to the test!
They then followed a practical method to identify the pen used in an unknown sample of ink using chromatography before finally competing to build the biggest tower using spaghetti and marshmallows.
Assistant Leader of Science, Mrs Potter, praised the pupils saying, "Well done to all the primary schools involved. The pupils showed confidence and enthusiasm throughout the event. In particular, congratulations go to Middleforth Primary School who emerged victorious and have been invited to come back with their entire class for an afternoon of 'wow' science activities."
We received really positive feedback from the schools and look forward to welcoming them back again.
