When Italy came to Priory
11 July 2024
Last Friday, a group of students from Florence visited Priory to sample English education, and in return, Year 8 received a lesson in Italian.
The group were travelling with StoryTime English labs, a small Italian organisation that aims to deliver engaging workshops for Italian young people to improve their English language.
Head of Languages, Mrs Scully, said, "We had a wonderful day with some lovely Italian pupils who taught us about many things: the geography of Italy, the famous landmarks and most importantly the beautiful language. Italian has many similarities with French which was noted quickly by our talented little linguists!"
During the day the group enjoyed lessons alongside Year 8 pupils. They sampled Music, Food Technology and PE, playing a game of Dodgeball. The group's leader, Debora Chellini, then delivered an engaging and fun lesson in Italian which included typical hand gestures and customs.
