The National Grid came into school on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes this week.

The aim of the session was to get pupils interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) subjects and to discuss apprenticeships with older pupils.

Pupils and staff took enjoyment from the hair-raising fun of the Van de Graaff and programming the robot car. The team also brought along pylons insulators and cable, and sections of substation overground cable for pupils to handle and discuss.

Lead Practitioner for Personal Development, Ms Smith said, 'I am pleased that The National Grid team came to visit Priory again. The lunchtime sessions enabled pupils across all years to visit the presentation stand and find out more about STEM and The National Grid. The 'buzz' around school following experiments with the Van de Graaff on day one, led to excited anticipation of their arrival the following day. We look forward to further visits from the team as part of our Careers provision'.
