High School Musical community performance
17 December 2024
"Absolutely incredible", "It was brilliant!" and "Fantastic show tonight." were just some of the words used by those who came to watch the school's production last week.
After months of rehearsals, High School Musical finally made it to the stage last Tuesday and Wednesday as our doors opened to pupils, parents, extended family, staff and members of the public. A matinee performance was specially arranged as a treat for some of our feeder primary school pupils, with great feedback.
On Wednesday, we were also delighted to entertain residents from Penwortham Grange & Lodge Residential Home, Priory Park Care Home. Visitors enjoyed tea and scones during the interval and even broke into song and dance when we played the Christmas tunes!
The school production is an annual tradition at Priory and a lot of hard work and dedication goes into making them a success. Pupils from all year groups join together to make up a unique family – on stage and backstage – with Lead Teacher of Drama, Miss Howell, leading the talented bunch.
Lines, dance routines and songs had to be learned, props made and lighting perfected - all of which delivered superb performances - but it was difficult to say who stole the show as there were so many stars!
Well done to everyone involved for providing us with the most perfect evening entertainment; from cast and crew to the teachers - Mr Taylor and Miss Howell, for taking charge.
