Our Year 7s continue to impress us every day and we want to highlight some of the amazing clubs that these pupils have started and are open to all year groups to join.

Despite only being in school since September, they have settled in and found their feet, expressing what they love doing in their spare time by starting their own clubs which they run. They are so enthusiastic about them and spend many hours making sure these clubs run smoothly, that they complement their lessons and they educate as well as being fun.

This is the first of two articles where we feature their clubs.

Ben, Harley and Niall run a Trading Cards Club.

Ben explained: “It is as it says, people bring any collectable cards and we can swap them or play games with them.

“I like Pokemon, Harley likes football cards while there are magic cards and more. We each have our own specialities.

“We meet every Thursday lunch-time.”

The Seasonal Songs Club is run by Charles, Nevaeh and Lewis.

Lewis said: “This is every Tuesday lunchtime in Mrs Robinson’s room.

“We all enjoy singing and we will sing Christmas songs at Christmas, summer songs in the summer and then normal songs any other time of the year.

“We have a playlist and we add to it with suggestions.”

Lucy and Nevaeh run the Improv Club every Monday lunch time in the Assembly Hall.

Lucy said: “It’s about improvisation, so acting without a script. There is already a Drama Club so this was something a bit different.

“We make up stories or just act out a scene and get people to guess what it is about.”

Nevaeh added: “We just start something and then run with it and see where it takes us.”
