Sport for All: A Day of Inclusion and Leadership at Priory
9 October 2025
A sports inclusion event for primary schools was held at Penwortham Primary Academy on Tuesday, 7th October, bringing together pupils from across the local area.
A total of 11 primary schools participated in the event, which celebrated diversity and teamwork through a variety of engaging sports activities. The children had the opportunity to try out a range of inclusive sports, including dodgeball, boccia, golf, and even axe throwing - each designed to encourage participation, fun, and collaboration regardless of ability or experience.
Supporting the event were 14 Year 8 students, who played a vital role in helping to run the activities.
Mr Hankin said, “Their enthusiasm, leadership, and teamwork were outstanding, and they did a fantastic job ensuring the day ran smoothly and that all participants felt welcome and included.”
Over the course of the year we host and assist in the running of a number of high profile, primary school sports events. These events engage our students to develop leadership skills required of the roles by helping to run them; officiating, scoring or acting as young leaders, whilst allowing primary pupils and their parents to experience our school’s facilities.
