On Wednesday, five pupils with a passion for a career in medicine were invited to Runshaw College to learn more about working in the sector.

The 'Medical Marvels' event  gave pupils the chance to take on the role of a doctor.  They had a go at diagnosing patients' symptoms and learnt how to apply stitches. Pupils also completed dissections, intubated a (real) trachea and bandaged one another up!

Science teacher, Mrs Burn, who accompanied the pupils said: “Everybody had a great time and luckily, nobody seemed put off a career in medicine by the end of the day!”

One day you never know, we may be addressing these pupils in the near future as Doctor Ellie B, Molly P, Charlotte R, Cerys H, Jacob H!
