The ‘scripted’ piece of their GCSE makes up 20% of their final grade and followed their ‘devised’ piece which they sat before Christmas.  Pupils studied the play, ‘Two’, by Jim Cartwright and were examined on their ability to learn sections of the script, and in effect perform ‘from page to stage’.

Drama teacher, Mr Hardcastle, said: “All the Drama pupils should be very proud of themselves; they have put in tremendous effort.  The examiner also commented on how respectful and considerate other pupils in the school were in allowing the performances to occur without distraction. I would like to offer a massive thanks to Mrs Whalley for all her assistance with the preparations and also thank you to Lucian F, Joel G and Owen C for their technical support and knowledge in creating the right atmosphere for the play”.

The play was set in a northern pub in the 1980s and so we would like to thank The Fleece Inn at Penwortham for loan of props and set pieces which helped to create the scene.

Pupils will now work on their preparation for the written exam on 18 May.
