Physics olympics
26 June 2018
A team of four Year 9 Priory pupils were invited to compete against teams from schools across the Chorley and South Ribble area to see who would be this year’s Physics Olympics champions.
The event, held at Albany Academy on Tuesday, involved the pupils taking part in five different activities testing different physics skills such as estimating huge values, building towers, bridges and powering a car from a balloon.
The pupils did fantastically well and were awarded 3rd overall.
Miss Conyngham, Science teacher, who accompanied the group said, “The pupils really enjoyed the day and the science department are excited to take another team next year!”
The image below shows the pupils trying to float as many marbles as they can using very limited materials.
Well done Josh I, Matthew D, Colin C and Ben W.
