Gym & Dance Show

Backstage the pupils were getting prepared; sequins, pom-poms and leotards set the scene. With finishing touches on hair and makeup from Lily H, Alexa E and Tia C, the pupils were ready to perform. 

Music from Lucia F and Joel G played as the audience were guided to their seats by our Year 10 helpers Antonia L and Gemma W. Mr Taylor was our flamboyant host for the night who introduced the 2019 cast. From soloists to duos, trios and group routines; the pupils shone on stage. 

The show kicked off with the very talented trampolinists providing an exciting start. The audience travelled through emotive contemporary pieces, to funky hip hop, an elegant ballet and a very energetic cheerleading routine - topped off with a full cast finale. 

Event organiser and PE Teacher, Miss Beesley proudly commented, “The 32 pupils who made up the cast have been a real credit to the school. Their dedication over the last four months through rehearsals and practices at lunch time and after school has been commendable.  This really paid off in their final performances where they beamed with pride.  The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all.

“I would like to personally thank all staff and pupils who were involved in the lead up to the show and on the night itself. However big or small your involvement, from designing the publicity, baking cakes, helping on the doors and last minute dress alterations! It all added up to making the show fabulous, and wouldn’t have run as it did without your help.  Thank you also to families and friends who have supported the pupils and came to watch the performance.”
