Mrs Gidden's cool readers club - Georgia

Priory’s Head of English, Mrs Gidden, has been really impressed with many of our multi-talented pupils lately and wanted to highlight their love of reading while excelling at other pursuits.

This week we interviewed Year 11 pupil, Georgia.

Georgia is one of Mrs Gidden’s Cool Readers and she has been so impressed by the Head of English that she wants to be an English teacher.

Year 11 Georgia is currently reading The Handmaid’s Tale which has recently been made into a television series.

“I have just started it but I do like horrors and thrillers,” said Georgia. “I read to relax, when I go abroad or go away for the weekend.

“I hope to study English Language, English Literature and Sociology A-Levels at Runshaw College as I want to be an English teacher.

“Mrs Gidden is very inspirational, I have always enjoyed English but she makes it really interesting.”

Georgia used to swim for Preston Swimming Club but she says hobbies have taken a step back as she revises for her GCSEs.  “My full concentration is on doing well in my exams.”
