World Book Day - The winning round up
4 March 2022
Wow, what a whirlwind! The pupils and staff were amazing at yesterday's World Book Day.
There were lots of entries to all our quizzes and lots of fabulous pupils in costume.
The Code Cracker and 'Hooked into Books' quiz winners will be announced next week by Mrs Elliott and Mrs Webster.
The winners of best dressed pupil:
Shannon T, Year 9 - as Sherlock Holmes
Darcy C, Year 11 - as Mary Poppins
Cora P, Year 11 - as Dorothy
Best dressed staff:
Miss Makinson as Moaning Myrtle
Best dress department
The PE department
Best decorated doors:
Mrs Elliott
Mrs Massey
The PE Office
The Main Office
Mr Henshaw
Overall decorated door winner: Mrs Scully
The treasure hunt was simply MAD! We had over 40 pupils running around school desperately searching for book related clues:
Winners were: Alfie D, Tom D, Seb C (All Year 11)
They were closely followed by a huge group of Year 9s, soaked to the skin! They included Connor McG, Lewis H, Samuel D, Preston McM and Lily McM. Lucy B, India P, Jake L and Katie H joined in, as did Geetha; Alex T in Year 8 and Year 7s Arifa, Junior, Shiven, Josh B and Seth L. There were so many we couldn't write them all down and even when they heard the prize had been claimed by the Year 11s, they were still good natured and flushed with excitement. Fabulous!
The afternoon saw 'The Masked Reader' and although we have some entries already, the deadline is at the end of Friday, so we will announce the winner on Monday.
What a great day! Thanks so much for your support.
