Year 9 pupil, Lochlan, used pedal power to raise money for the RSPCA.

Lochlan, alongside his dad, completed the Coast-to-Coast 139 mile journey in just over 12 hours, which was just over two and half days of cycling!

Lochlan's dad told us, "He did fantastically well on the ride and really showed that his training paid off."

So far Lochlan has raised £580 and with everyone's support he hopes to reach £750.

Setting off on 12 May, after taking the train to Whitehaven at 5am, the pair began their journey from there and rode onto Penrith in just over 5.5 hours - 62 miles and some big hills!

The next day Lochlan and his dad rode to the village of Rookhope with their biggest climbs including Hartside Pass which opened out to the whole of the Yorkshire moors. At 1900ft, Lochlan completed it with ease. Sunderland was the final stage although it meant they needed to complete 18 miles off road which was tough, with the last 25 miles being a quiet ride down to arrive at their destination.

Dad said, "Thanks for all the support, I’m very proud of what Lochlan has achieved and I’m thankful to everyone at the school."
