Priory is introducing 30 new trees to its award-winning grounds as part of the Queen’s Jubilee Tree Planting initiative.

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, inviting people from across the UK to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.’

Priory has got involved through the Woodland Trust's Free Trees for Schools and Communities Scheme and this ‘Wild Cherry’ tree is now at the front of the school.

Learning for Life Co-Ordinator & Maths Teacher, Mr Raynor said: “We are always looking to help the environment and it's a good way for our school to be part of the Queen’s Jubilee.

“We are very proud of the Priory estate, we have won several Britain in Bloom school awards, and Mr Farron works very hard on them.

“We have 30 saplings to plant in all different areas of the school and it’s an opportunity to do something for future generations.”
