Year 10 pupil invited to The Royal Institution
17 July 2024
Year 10 Emily was invited to the Royal Institution in London last weekend for a Masterclass celebration day after taking part in a Maths Masterclass at Lancaster University earlier this year.
The Institution is a leading independent charity dedicated to connecting people to share their interest and passion with the world of science.
Emily attended Lancaster University School of Maths (LUSoM) through being nominated by her Maths teacher, Mr Evans. She was then invited by The Royal Institution to attend a Secondary Masterclass celebration day on Saturday, 13 July.
Pupils who attended Maths, Science and Computer Science masterclasses in their area travelled from across the UK to the capital for the event. The day consisted of different speakers who delivered sessions on their specific expertise and spoke about how STEM subjects can support them.
Emily enjoyed the day, saying she particularly liked the talk by Nerys Shah, 'Can we trust Maths?'.
Well done, Emily!
