#LetGirlsPlay Football
10 March 2022
This week England Football organised the biggest ever football celebration for girls in school - #LetGirlsPlay.
The FA, supported by Barclays, want all girls to have equal access to football in schools by 2024. They believe girls should have the same opportunities that boys currently have to play.
During our PE & Sports curriculum on Wednesday, Priory delivered #LetGirlsPlay football sessions to all girls groups. Mr Hankin, Priory's South Ribble Sports Partnership Coach, gave the girls a range of drills to practice and also introduced them to matches.
During Period 2 all Year 7 & 8 girls who attend extra curricular football practice took part in an additional session of training. Mr Hankin was extremely impressed with the girls' skill level and said they were fantastic!
These girls will be given a letter inviting them to attend the Women's Euro 22 opening ceremony at Old Trafford in July.
