Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...

These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher.  We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading.  Introducing Louis...

Louis had read every football book – so now he has moved onto space! 

The Year 7 is currently half way through ‘Unlocking the Universe’ by Stephen and Lucy Hawkins. 

“It is a thick book but it is interesting,” said Louis. “I have learnt about the different type of black holes and how to get in and out of them and about the first person on the moon. I have learnt a lot from it. 

“My favourite books are football ones but I have read every one of them. I like the one about Lionel Messi the best.” 

Football-mad Louis plays on the wing for Sir Tom Finney JFC and watches Preston North End. 

“My favourite subjects in school are PE, Science, English and History and I want to do something with sport, perhaps be a sports coach, in the future.” 

Louis' English teacher, Miss Nicholls added, "Louis is an absolute pleasure to teach and is always enthusiastic about every book he reads. He is constantly asking for new recommendations or he’s telling me about random (but amazing!) facts he’s learnt from his current read. I can always count on Louis to teach me a few things! Louis brings his love for football to English and has managed to read every single one of our Classic Football Heroes books. Impressive! "
