Priory raises money to support local special needs centre

Learning Support Assistant Mrs Whalley has raised £150 for a cause close to Priory, the Space Centre.
The Space Centre is a multi-sensory environment in Preston for children and adults with special needs.
Mrs Whalley said: “The Space Centre was the chosen charity of the Year 11s who have just left so that’s why I selected this charity.
“I read a lot at home and have plenty of books which I decided to sell and I also asked the Priory staff to bring in books and we had a book sale.
“My elderly mother also donated a keyboard to purchase and it was actually sold to a member of staff in school who needed a keyboard so it all worked out well.”
Space Centre Manager and former Priory pupil, Jane Carysforth, came with her daughter Emily to receive the cheque.
“It’s amazing and really heartwarming.” said Jane.
“Having Emily, it’s great to see the support from the community, and especially a local school, which we are grateful for.”
