Year 7 girls make their footballing debut

Priory's Year 7 girls played their debut last Thursday at Leyland St Mary’s South Ribble tournament. 

A very excited team began the 7-a-side competition. We got off to a rocky start with two losses, however once the team had settled into a rhythm we began to pick up pace with the next two games drawing against Penwortham Girls High School and Lostock Hall Academy, with goal keeper Clark keeping a clean sheet! 

Then the goals arrived with a fantastic win against both Brownedge and Leyland St Mary’s with goals from Parkinson and Weber. 

PE Teacher and Team Coach, Miss Beesley, said, "The girls showed fantastic team spirit with grit and determination.  In the end it was very close with the overall result being decided on goal difference between three teams." 

The girls finished fourth out of eight teams - a very respectable debut performance.  Well done!
