REPORT BY MISS BEESLEY, PE TEACHER

Priory's U13s Girls football team entered the first stages of the Lancashire Cup on Friday, 4th October, playing away against Bishops Rawstorne Academy.

The game was their debut in the tournament as well as their first time playing together as a team since Year 7.

Priory got off to a cracking start immediately showing Bishops their grit and determination. It wasn't long into the game when Hollie L scored our first goal. This settled the girls, who were then able to get into their stride, with great tackles from Willow P and defence from Bella D.

With a few minor changes at half time, the girls were ready to go again. Daisy G moving up front allowed us to create another goal opportunity from Hollie L scoring her second of the match eight minutes into the second half.

Bishops had a few chances on goal, however the quick hands of Freya C allowed for some fantastic saves.

Priory continued with some very near misses towards the end of the match, hitting the bar on a number of occasions. The result ended 2-0 to Priory allowing them to enter the round one stages, where they will be up against Holy Cross Catholic High School.

Well done girls!
