Pupils have the option to purchase freshly prepared food, snacks and drinks directly from the dining rooms using their ID card to make payment.

Food and drinks are served at break and lunch from the Restaurant for pupils in Years 7, 8 & 9, and from the Bistro for pupils in Years 10 & 11. In addition, there are various ‘grab & go’ options, including baked potatoes, served at the Pod.

As well as hot plated meals, there is also a wide selection of sandwiches, paninis, pasta pots, snacks, fruit, cakes and drinks.

When a pupil presents their ID card at the food ordering kiosk, a display will show the pupil’s name, registration group and current cash balance held within the system.  Their account is then debited for the value of the items purchased.

There’s a great choice with a three-week rolling lunch menu which will be displayed around school and in the weekly newsletter.

For break choices include bagels, sausage/bacon barms, pizza slices, toast and garlic bread. For lunch, plated meal choices include pasta dishes, curry, roast dinner, fish and chips and regular ‘specials’ alongside jacket potatoes, chicken wraps, paninis and more.

Vegetarian, Halal and gluten-free options are also available.

Vending Machines

The vending machines offer a wide selection of bottled drinks. These are located in the Bistro (the Year 10 & 11 dining area) and at the back of the Sports Hall, which crosses the Year 7 & 8 area. Drinks can only be paid for with cash or contactless card payment (there is no ID card scanner).

Exclusively for our Year 10 & 11 pupils and staff, we also have a hot drinks machine in the Bistro.  All drinks are 60p each and also, must be paid for with cash or contactless card payment. Pupils must not leave the Bistro with hot drinks.

Lost or Forgotten ID Cards

We understand that ID cards can get forgotten or lost occasionally.

Pupils who have lost their card will need to order another one and pay £1 in cash, or parents/carers can pay in advance via SCOPay.

Pupils who have forgotten or lost their card should go to the Business & Finance Office where, in exchange for £1, they will be given a slip which they should take to the dining room and hand over to a member of the catering team. They will then be able to choose some food for that day only.

The catering team member will note what has been purchased on the slip and use it to deduct the cost of the items from the pupil's account after.

Replacement ID cards will be ready to collect from the Business & Finance Office the next day. When a new card is printed, the old one is deactivated so no one can use it if it is found.

Please note, if pupils forget or lose their ID card regularly, they will be asked to see their Head of Year.
