Celebrating Eid al-Adha with Sweet Treats and Shared Culture
24 June 2025
On Friday, 13 June a group of 30 pupils had the opportunity to take part in a vibrant celebration to mark Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar.
Organised by Mrs Karodia, the event aimed to foster cultural awareness and understanding, promote inclusivity, and community spirit among pupils of all backgrounds.
The celebration took place at Cube Desserts in Preston, where pupils enjoyed a delicious meal and dessert. The evening was filled with fun games, laughter, and the chance to learn more about the traditions and meaning behind Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and is a time for prayer, charity, and festive gatherings. The event provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to explore these themes in a relaxed and joyful setting.
Mrs Karodia said, “The pupils embraced the spirit of the occasion, engaging in conversations, asking questions, and building friendships across different year groups and faiths. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, reflecting the inclusive values our school strives to uphold.
“A heartfelt thank you to all the pupils and staff who participated, making the evening a truly memorable occasion!”
A big thank you to Mrs Karodia for organising such a meaningful and memorable evening. Events like these help us grow not only in knowledge but also strengthen our community and appreciation for the diverse world we live in.
