Mr Watters’ H7 progress group, along with pupils working towards their PixL Edge awards, have contributed to The Samaritan’s Operation Christmas Child campaign and today saw their gift boxes begin their journey to surprise those in need.

Pupils were keen to be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world through the power of a simple gift. They made up shoe boxes for different age groups with goodies ranging from toys and stationery items to hygiene products and were able to include a handwritten note from the sender.

This is the 25th year Geography teacher and organiser, Mr Watters, has asked pupils to get involved in the appeal.  He commented, “The pupils are always enthusiastic and we get around 50 parcels each year.  Over the years this has been a tremendous support and I’ll be travelling over to Fleetwood after school today to drop the boxes at the distribution centre”.

The charity says, “A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal”.
