Mrs Gidden's cool reader's club - Alex
9 July 2020
Priory’s Head of English, Mrs Gidden, has been really impressed with many of our multi-talented pupils and wanted to highlight their love of reading while excelling at other pursuits.
Before the school closure we interviewed Year 7 pupil, Alex.
Alex admits his favourite book requires a lot of concentration – ‘The Hobbit’ by JRR Tolkien.
“It is a challenging book to read but it’s a good story,” said Alex, who has read more than 20 books since September.
The Year 7 is currently reading ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ by JK Rowling.
“I have read all the others but never read the second one and I found it in the library the other day,” said Alex.
“I have seen some of the films but I prefer the books. I do like books that are in-depth and fantasies are my favourite.”
Alex likes drama and French at school.
“I enjoy the challenge of learning a new language in French and I have taken to drama, I have found I enjoy it.”
