From Mon, 6 December to Thurs, 16 December, we will be collecting for our reverse advent calendar. This year we're supporting Penwortham Food Bank and the homeless.  We also want to help local children by giving them decorated shoe boxes filled with goodies.

We are asking families to bring in items over the two weeks, ready to distribute before we close for the Christmas break.

Our local community has been very grateful for our donations in the past in supporting those who have less than us.  This part of our Culture Focus for the term: Kindness.

What is a reverse advent calendar?

Reverse advent calendars work by you filling them every day with items of food or clothing that can then be taken to a food bank or charity in order to help those less fortunate who are struggling at Christmas time.

In terms of the homeless, this year they are in need of the following:

  • Hats, gloves, scarves
  • New underwear and socks for both male and females
  • Toiletries or toiletry gift sets they can give out as presents, baby wipes, lip balms
  • Non–perishable food (anything in a tin or packet), along with bake
  • at home bread, longlife milk
  • Selection boxes and Christmas type chocolates/cakes/mince pies

Who do I leave my donations with at school?

In form time, please take your items to Mrs Massey's room, SC1.
