Summer Arts Festival 2022
14 July 2022
There were talented dancers, musicians, singers and even a sword fight as we hosted our Summer Arts Evening on Wednesday.
Pupils took to the stage where the audience were treated to some outstanding performances.
“It’s the sixth time we have held the Summer Arts Evening at Priory and every year we are impressed with the range of talented pupils we have here,” said Mr Taylor. “They never cease to surprise us. It’s great to watch how their talents have developed and how they are growing into such confident performers.”
Year 10 pianist Zlata L is studying to prepare for the highest grade available in the UK – Grade Eight - then wants to go to the Royal Northern College of Music to study piano. She performed having only joined the school a fortnight ago.
There were other top performers on the night including Zoe D and Favour A singing, Phoebe W on a self-taught dance, Holly E doing a monologue, alongside a reprise of the Hammer scene from Matilda, our Christmas Production last year.
We look to expand next year and will have use of the Playhouse Theatre. Miss Howell says "Using the Playhouse Theatre will be such an opportunity for our students as it will give them experience of performing and working in a fully functioning theatre. The students are excited to be getting on with new ideas already coming in for the next one. We are incredibly proud of everyone that took part it takes determination, dedication, and resilience"
The interval saw the audience able to access the wonderful display of GCSE Artwork which made it a truly memorable evening to experience all of the Creative Arts in one place.
