Here's what our Cool Readers Club is all about...
These are our reading stars put forward by their English teacher. We interview them about their current book, what they like reading about and what they like to do when they’re not reading. Introducing Connie...
Connie loves drama at Priory but is thinking about a career in physiotherapy.
The Year 9 has just started ‘The Dog Share’ by Fiona Gibson.
“This is about two people who own the same dog but I have only just started reading it,” said Connie.
“It was a bit confusing at first but it’s starting to make sense now!”
Described as a ‘gloriously uplifting book’, Connie admits she enjoys a variety of books.
“I can read anything really, I read for pleasure and I usually always finish the book.”
Connie has taken part in Priory’s productions including Matilda, Game Over and Mary Poppins.
“I enjoy drama and I do also take part in shows outside of school as well.
“I want to be on stage in the future but I am also thinking about physiotherapy. My auntie is a physio and I do enjoy both sports and science and that combines them both.”
Connie's AR teacher, Miss Ackers added, "Connie is such a gloriously uplifting student who clearly enjoys reading, brings a dramatic flair to class and is engrossed every week in her AR session. She's been reading lots of books since we've been back at school and it's lovely to see her enjoying books just as much as I do. Keep it up Connie!"
