Priory+ Awards Spring Term

Last Friday, Mr Eastham presented another cache of badges and certificates to pupils who had achieved the next stage in their Priory+ Awards.

Over 220 pupils achieved this recognition during the Spring term and, on Friday, those that chose to be personally presented by the Principal, got to receive their rewards.  Pupils who have opted out of this will have their certificates and badges presented to them by their Head of Year.  

Priory+ was introduced a few years ago to encourage and reward pupils for working on their own Personal Development.  At Penwortham Priory Academy we believe that strong Personal Development provision contributes to making a positive difference to pupils’ lives.  The opportunities provided not only allow them to engage in activities they are interested in, but enables them to explore and build a strong pathway to, and foundation for, a successful future. 

Our activities fit into five overarching strands, which supplement our Character and Culture Personal Development sessions in Learning for Life.  There are five strands: Culture & Heritage | Future Citizens | Health & Well-Being | Skill Builders | Bright Futures

Year 10, Chittara, has 'banked' all her evidence this term from her last 3 1/2 years. She has therefore achieved Bronze One through to Platinum and was awarded all her certificates on Friday by Mr Eastham.  Chittara now proudly wears her top three achievements - two Gold stars and her Platinum.

Head Prefect, Cameron, has also achieved Bronze Three onwards having already qualified for Bronze One and Two in previous terms. Cameron was determined to achieve all awards prior to leaving us this summer.

Thank you to Year 10 Umar, who added to his Priory+ evidence by volunteering to take the photos at the presentation event.  You'll be doing Mrs Yates out of a job!

In the Autumn term we emailed parents a digital copy of the Priory+ Personal Development brochure and sent a printed copy home with Year 7 pupils.
