We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of all our pupils.  Here are the boys' stories...

Preston celebrated eight Grade 9s – a clean sweep – at Penwortham Priory Academy.

Preston will now go onto LUSoM (Lancaster University School of Maths) and has maths as his priority after celebrating a Grade 9 in Maths and Further Maths. He also got a Level 2 Distinction* in Engineering.

“I am happy. I am delighted with my Maths results but I thought I would get an 8 in English Literature so was delighted with that.

“I want to do something with Maths in the future. Maths is fun and the Further Maths was an extra qualification. It gives me a head start with my A-Levels.”

Maths teacher Andy Hunter said: “It’s a great achievement for Preston to get a Grade 9. Further Maths is an extra GCSE and it’s really tough. We got quite a few with a Grade 5-9 which is brilliant.”

Sam got what he expected – 7 Grade 9s and one Grade 8 as well as a Level 2 Distinction* in Engineering.

“I kind of expected what I got although I expected an 8 in English and I got a 9 so I was surprised at that.

“I want to go to Newman College and study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology. I want to do something with medicine.”

Issac was delighted with a Grade 8 in Maths – as that’s what he wants to do in the future.

“I needed a high score so am happy with an 8 as I want to do Maths at university.”

Issac achieved seven GCSEs and a Level 2 Distinction in Engineering.

“I aim to do Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics either at LUSOM or Newman College.

“In the future, I want to do Maths or finance. I like maths as there is an answer – in English there are a number of interpretations! I like STEM.”

Head Prefect, Alex, celebrated nine GCSEs – with three Grade 9s and the rest 8s and 7s.

“I want to go to Newman College and study Maths, Physics and PE. I like sport but have no idea what I want to do in the future.”

Lucas achieved two Grade 9s in Science and then five 8s among his results, which included a Level 2 Distinction in Digital Information Technology.

“I want to go to Newman as well and do Graphic Design, French and Biology.”

Performer Lewis is attending a specialist new college - the Blackpool Theatre Collective.

It's a performing arts college and Lewis is one of 18 who have secured a place in its first year.

"It's been started by two guys from London and I decided to go for this as they have opportunities and connections in singing, dancing and acting.  There were 15 spots initially but I think there are 18 of us ready to start our first year.

"I got the grades I needed and did better in Science than I expected.

"I am pretty flexible about what I want to do in the future so I will see where it takes me."

Lewis was a Head Prefect at Priory and has also been in almost all the school productions during his time at Priory.  He is pictured below with his former Form Tutor, Mr Watters.

Cyrus has secured an apprenticeship at Enigma Industrial Services.

"It involves scaffolding and is linked to Manchester College so I got what I needed in my results. I have been doing it for three weeks and I am enjoying it!"

Principal Matt Eastham said: “Results today are a celebration for all, with outcomes enabling our pupils to open doors to their future opportunities as they move on from Priory. The results of many individuals have shone, with their hard work and commitment rewarded with outstanding grades. The results clearly reflect the effort put in by all involved.”
