Regardless of the results however, we recognise our 2024 leavers as precious and unique individuals, and throughout their final year with us, they have shown how determined and hopeful they are, demonstrating remarkable levels of resilience.  Here's how the girls got on...

Lily achieved nine GCSEs – with five Grade 9s and all Grade 7 and above. Her progress has been superb in school and she has exceeded expectations.

“I was shocked I got a Grade 9 in chemistry. I got a seven in my mock so I was pleased with that.

“I got a Grade 9 in Art which was amazing as I took it on my own, I had my own classroom and worked with Miss Smith.

“I want to go to Newman College and study Biology, Art, Maths and German. It will be weird being separated from Preston (her twin brother) for the first time but the colleges are next door to each other!”

Miss Smith said: “Despite the Art and Design GCSE course being discontinued, Lily wanted to take it as an extra subject as she wanted to do Art at A-Level.

“I gave up my time and she came to me every Friday and camped in my office. The moderator praised her work, her imagination and how she used materials. It was really personal because she had taken it on her own so it was special. To achieve a 9 is superb.”

We feel proud, as adults in the school, to have been a part of these young peoples’ lives, their achievements and, based on their individual abilities and resilience, proud of the unique accomplishments each of them has made.

Madison has her sights set on business.

She got six GCSEs, Grades 8 and 7, and a Level 2 Distinction in Business and Enterprise and Digital Information Technology.

“I aim to go to Newman College and study A-Levels in Business and Economics and a BTEC in Law.”

Emmie is also keeping her options open.

“I am going to go to Newman College to study Graphic Design, Sociology and French. I like Graphic Design and want a career in that but I am also good at French so we shall see.

Emmie achieved seven GCSEs – with four 9s and three 8s – as well as a Level 2 Distinction in Graphic Design.

“I am really proud.”

Megan admitted she was amazed by her results after collecting four Grade 9s and one Grade 8, 7 and 6 as well as a Level 2 Distinction* in Engineering and a Level 2 Distinction in Graphic Design.

“I was so worried about my maths as I felt I had messed up the first paper so to get a 7 means it all came together!

“I want to go to Newman College to study Maths, Physics and Computer Science and perhaps go down the engineering route in the future.”

Lucy achieved a 9 in English Language as well as three 8s and two 7s, with a Level 2 Distinction in Graphic Design and a Level 2 Merit in Business and Enterprise.

“I am happy with my English Literature, getting a Grade 7 as I thought I would only get a 5. I want to go to Newman and do Psychology, Modern History and English Language.”

Principal, Mr Eastham, added, "We feel proud, as adults in the school, to have been a part of these young peoples’ lives, their achievements and, based on their individual abilities and resilience, proud of the unique accomplishments each of them has made. On behalf of all the staff here at Priory, I just want to say thank you to our young people. Thank you too, to our parents, and guardians, for their continued support of us as a school in your child’s time with us."
