KTB Music, owned by former Priory pupil Katy Bradley, provides music tuition at school on a private one-to-one basis.

One of the teachers Tom Madill teaches saxophone, piano and guitar in school.

Tom said: “I teach once a week at Priory for two to three hours, depending on the demand, with my main instrument the saxophone but I also teach guitar and piano.

“I got into the saxophone through Katy Perry’s ‘Last Friday Night’ where there is a saxophone solo which I loved!

“I love teaching music as it’s combining my hobby and my job! Music is fun, it’s an outlet from lessons and you can go on to have a variety of careers with it. It’s also good for mental health as it can help people relax and is uplifting.”

Year 8 Alice is currently learning how to play the drums with KTB Music.

“It’s fun and it’s something different. I have learnt a lot and I am going to do my grades and also do it as a GCSE.

“The lessons are working! I have a band with my friends so I use my drumming skills and we play all different types of music.”

Lessons are available in singing, piano, saxophone, drums and guitar at £7 for 15 minutes. Pupils will come out of a timetabled lesson on a rota basis.
